I am your helpless moth,
Drawn to the false lights,
Devoured by birds.

Writing at work again. I've only got two more days left at this place, and I've got nothing to do whatsoever. I've been sitting here, surfing the net obsessively, emailing, chatting, and listening to music. I'm bored now but hey, I know the new job will be hectic. My manager here has organised a lunch thing for my farewell, which I find strange because I haven't been here long, I don't know/interact with a lot of the people and honestly, I don't do much. He's making it like a big deal that I'm leaving, but I feel the attention is unwarranted. When I was young I wanted to be the centre of the world, but increasingly now I want to irk out my existence in some quiet corner of the world.

I'm trying to write more, anything really to pass the time, but I can't think of anything worth writing about. Chinese New Year came and went, and, just like Christmas presents, the amount of red packets has diminished too. Aww.

This morning I was in the car when my mum took my little cousin, who's in year five, to school. It's amazing how much he's grown. His feet are already bigger than mine. I remember when he was still a baby, the way he'd cry when I tried to carry him. I've watched him grow, learn new things, mature. He's still retained some of that childhood wonder that will soon disappear in his teenage years. He reminds me a lot of myself. He talks when he needs to, but otherwise he's reserved and introspective.
Year five - I can still remember when I was in year five, like it was yesterday. Coming home to a dark and empty house in winter, eating Coco Pops from a mug while playing my dad's Cat Stevens CD...
